Team Donate Life - Crystel's Gift

A team of eight amateur cyclists from the Fresno area will compete in Race Across America (RAM) 2012.  They are partnering with Team Donate Life - a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote organ donation and transplantation.  The team is racing in honor of Crystel Stanford to raise awareness of the Organ Donor program and are committed to raising $100,000.00 before June 16, 2012.

Race Across America (RAM) is a 3,000 mile relay race across the United States within approximately one week.  The team will race in honor of Crystel Stanford, who lost her life in a cycling accident in the foothills of Fresno in May 2011.  Crystel’s family generously donated her organs which saved the lives of many individuals who may not have lived without “Crystel’s Gift” of life.

Team Donate Life has created a program called Family Transplant Benevolence Fund which assists families in severe financial needs.  The fund will cover lost income associated with patients or their families while they are recovering from surgery.  A portion of the funds raised from RAM are applied to this fund.  In support of Team Donate Life and Crystel’s Gift you may make a donation at the time of registration for any of the California Classic Weekend events. Fresno Chaffee Zoo

The Chaffee Zoo is home to more than 120 animal species -- including 18 species listed on the Species Survival Plan, which works to help breed many of the planet's rarest animals.  The California Classic Weekend has chosen Fresno Chaffee Zoo, Sea Lion Cove as a charity for 2012. By donating to Fresno Chaffee Zoo you will be helping in construction of Sea Lion Cove and be able to see where your funds went as you run through the Zoo during the Half Marathon.  Donations can be made during your registration for any of the California Classic Weekend's events.  Click Here
