Can walkers enter the Half Marathon?

Yes the Half Marathon course is walker friendly and we encourage walkers to participate.

What is the time limit of the half marathon?

The time limit for the half marathon is 4 hours.  After that you may be asked to move to the sidewalk. The finish-line will remain open until 12:00 noon.

How can I get a California Classic Challenge wind breaker?

The only persons to receive the coveted California Classic Challenge wind breaker are those who register and complete the Ultimate Challenge which is the half marathon and the Century.

How do I get the $10 discount for the California Classic Challenge (ride the century and run the half marathon?

You must register for the California Classic Ultimate Challenge event

I registered for the half marathon and have since decided to do the challenge.  Can I still get a $10 discount?

You can do the challenge by registering for the Century now and receive a Classic Ultimate Challenge windbreaker when you cross the finish line but there are no discounts available if registering separately.

Do all half marathon participants receive a finisher's medallion?

Yes all finishers of the Half Marathon and Relay receive a medallion.

Can a person who does not register for one of the rides just ride the course?

No, anyone who is not wearing their offical number will not be allowed on the Freeway, in the sag party stations or receive the post race barbecue and Michelob Ultra Beer Garden.  Please... no bandits allowed!

Can I get a refund?

         All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.  All events take place rain or shine.  You may not give or sell your number to another individual - if you do this it could result in your disqualification as well as the runner who uses your race number.

Is Freeway 168 really closed to vehicle traffic for this event?

With the help of Caltrans, the City of Fresno, City of Clovis, Fresno Police and Highway Patrol, Freeway 168 will be closed from 7:30 am to 9:30 am Saturday May 19 for approximately 10 miles from McKinley on ramp to Shepherd Ave.  So yes!  The Freeway is closed and according to Caltrans the ONLY ride to close a California Freeway!!

I registered on-line but was not asked to pay during registration.

You did not complete your registration process and must go back to re-enter the registration until complete. 

If my child's school is not participating in the Kids Marathon can he/she still participate?

Any child grades 1 thru 6th grade can participate in the kids marathon.  They must download the running log and with adult supervision complete 25 miles before May 1st.  Before that time they must register on-line and pay the fee (unless limit has been reached).  Please see the Kids Marathon page for more information 

Where do the proceeds from this event go? 

Event proceeds provide funds for various local programs. This year two of our charities are Team Donate Life "Crystel's Gift" which brings awareness to organ doner programs and Chaffee Zoo with the construction of Sea Lion Cove. To find out more about these charities click here
