On Saturday, May 19, join one of the three bike rides we are offering: the Rabobank Classic Century, Classic Metric and 35-Mile Mini Metric.  Riders will line up inside of Chukchansi Park before being lead by a police escort to the McKinley on ramp of Freeway 168, where all riders will be released to ride as they wish.  Thanks to the California Highway Patrol, City of Fresno, City of Clovis, the Fresno Police Department and the California Department of Transportation, they have made it possible for riders to ride Freeway 168 for ten miles with no vehicle traffic, from McKinley Ave to Shepherd Ave.  That is why we are urging cyclists up and down the Central Valley to "Ride the Freeway to California's Year Round Playground!"

New for 2012! All riders will receive a timing chip which will allow tracking of total time spent on the ride for each rider.

ALL RIDES START AT 7:00 AM

All riders must start at 7:00 AM to be able to access the freeway.  You must stay behind the Police Pace Cars until you have reached the freeway.  Do not crowd or ride next to the pace car to allow for turns.  Please line up and ride with your perspective ability of riders.  Experienced riders line up in front, with the least experienced riders in the back.  Read your final instructions event guide, (to be picked up with your packet at the Expo) ride safely and have a good time. If your bike has a flat or malfunction before entering the freeway there will be a sag vehicle that will help you repair your bike.

All riders receive: Chrono Track chip, Event Shirt, Official bib number (for access to the course, on to freeway and festivities), Goodie bag, chance to win great prizes, 7 Rest Stops, 10 clearly marked SAG vehicles, finisher's medal, Barbecue, free massage, free ticket to see Fresno Fuego's play at Chukchansi Stadium and Michelob Ultra Beer Garden with music.  A free secure bike check/vallet will be available at the finish area.

PLEASE NOTE: All rider's numbers will be checked before allowing ride access onto the Freeway...NO NUMBER, NO FREEWAY, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Rest Stops will be approximately 20 miles apart.  Each Rest Stop will have music, portable toilets and stocked with plenty of food and energy drinks.  Relax, visit or just kick back for a while before you head out to the next station.  Sag Vehicles will cover approx 12 mile stretches.  

You want MORE of a challenge not less!  Then enter our Classic Ultimate Challenge!  This is where you will ride the Century on Saturday May 19th and then run the Half Marathon, the following day, May 20.  We will even give you a discount for entering both!  That’s right; you will receive a $10 discount just for entering both events and a special recognition award, a California Classic Challenge wind breaker for completing the challenge.  To get the discount you must enter both events at the same time by choosing the Classic Ultimate Challenge on our registration page.

All riders are required to sign an additional waiver when picking up their packet.  All riders must wear helmets and must wear their bib number to participate in the ride, enter the freeway and participate in the post barbecue!
