On Sunday, May 20, join 3,500 participants in the 2nd Annual EYE-Q California Classic Half Marathon. This exciting half marathon has many unique features. First, the half marathon starts and finishes inside of Chukchansi Park in Downtown Fresno. Runners will experience running through the newly renovated Downtown areas, passing City Hall, the newly built Federal Court House, the Granville Lofts, Eaton Plaza and the Historic Water Tower. Runners will head to the Valley’s only accredited Chaffee Zoo, where they will run past the elephants, lions, tigers and bears. Arrangements have been made to bring some of the animals out of their cages to spur you on. After being entertained by the animals, you’ll leave the zoo and run by one of Fresno’s most famous landmarks, the Tower District, where you will be cheered on by plenty of spectators. You'll complete your journey heading back to Chukchansi Stadium where you’ll enjoy an array of good food, music and for those 21 and older, enjoy a free beer courtesy of Michelob Ultra. The EYE-Q Classic Half Marathon is a walker-friendly course. Walkers are always welcome! 

For those wanting to take part in the half marathon but don’t want to train for 13.1 miles, there is the Fresno/Clovis CVB Classic 2-Person Half Marathon Relay. Each person will run 6.5 miles and receive the same amenities as the half marathon runners. The first leg will start at Chukchansi Stadium along with the Half Marathon runners and you will hand off your baton which has a timing chip attached to the second leg relay runner inside of Chaffee Zoo. The second leg runner will finish inside of Chukchansi Stadium along with the other Half Marathon participants. The second annual Classic 2 Person Relay is presented by Fresno Clovis Convention and Visitor's Bureau.

And if you are a really serious runner, you can vie for a part of our prize purse; other cash awards will be given out 3 deep in each age division.

Half Marathon and Relay participants will receive the following amenities: Short sleeve tech shirt, Finisher's medallion, Finisher's breakfast, Official bib number, Goodie bag, 6 water/Gatorade stations, 2 medical stations with 2 roving medical personnel, Michelob Ultra Beer Garden with live music and 1 free beer.

You want even MORE of a challenge!  Then enter our Classic Ultimate Challenge!  This is where you will ride the Century on Saturday May 19 and then run the Half Marathon, the following day, May 20. We'll even give you a discount for entering both! That’s right; you will receive a $10 discount just for entering both events and a special recognition award for completing the challenge. To get the discount, you must enter both events at the same time by choosing the Classic Ultimate Challenge on the registration page.

Directions & Parking

Parking is available within a short distance of Chukchansi Stadium, the Start/Finish.
Take our advice: Plan ahead and get here by 6:00 AM.

From Highway 99 North:  Take the Ventura Street exit and turn right onto Ventura Street. Turn left on H Street to the stadium.

From Highway 99 South:  Take the Fresno Street exit, turn left on Fresno.  Turn right on Broadway, up to H Street.  Stadium is located on H Street straight ahead.

From Freeway 41 North:  Take the Van Ness exit towards downtown Fresno.  Turn left on Ventura then right on H Street.  The stadium is straight ahead.

From Freeway 41 South: Take the Van Ness exit.  Turn right on Van Ness and then left on Inyo or Tulare to the Stadium.

 From Highway 180 East or West:  The most convenient exits are to continue to highways 41 or 99 and use the existing instructions above.
